Training cost savings

Whilst its easy to think in-house training by an external company might stretch budgets, its worth thinking again, cost per head is typically from just £30. In addition to this, you don’t have to pay for the travel and possible accommodation costs to get your employees to an external training centre, this could save you a significant amount.

Tailored training for you

Running an in-house training course allows the training to be a lot more focused on the specific subjects and skills that are relevant to your business. Public scheduled courses and e-learning will often be generic for businesses of any sector or size that attend them.

We can use current work examples

Training In-House means the courses can be prepared to fix your individual issues using real life examples and therefore have the most effect. People will be able to think about current work or examples of work which relates to their roles not a generic example.

Convenience

Organising training for a group of people all with their own schedules can be a very difficult task. However by having In-House training courses in your own building it can make working around people’s schedules a lot easier people can be easily reached if something urgent crops up. Plus its in an environment people know and are familiar with which is more relaxing and productive learning environment.

Encourage interaction and team building

Having a room of people from different teams and levels can encourage team work and communication. This is a great result as it is often in this social learning that the most learning is done when ideas are being bounced off each other. This will also likely lead to increased awareness and understanding of each other’s roles as well as staff morale.

Everyone at Ringway Training would like to say a huge thank you to all of our wonderful customers. We truly appreciate that you have chosen us to provide you with training for your organization and we hope that our commitment to quality has continued to shine through.

You can’t turn at the moment without hearing about GDPR, but there is a temptation to think it mainly applies to tech businesses, email marketing and social media but social care business and organisations may be surprised by how much data they actually handle – and often sensitive data.

GDPR came into force on 25th May 2018 and although its late there is no time like the present to ensure you’re compliant. Our data protection training course has been designed for social care and education organisations and so deals directly with typical scenarios of these type of businesses.

Have you thought about:

Radicalisation is defined by the Youth Justice Board as a process of change, a personal and political transformation from one condition to another. Recent scholars argue that becoming radicalised is, for most people, a gradual process and one that requires a progression through distinct stage and happens neither quickly nor easily (Horgan, 2005; Sibler and Bhatt, 2007).

Radicalisation is a delicate subject, but an essential one to understand when working with vulnerable children and young people. A person does not become instantly 'radicalised' but instead are gradually exposed to influences which may accelerate their thought processes. When working with vulnerable young people, it is essential to be aware of the risks associated with radicalisation n, how to identify possible concerns and identify with the role social settings and networks play in the radicalisation process.

This training course confirms the meaning of radicalisation and associated terms and identifies the models of the radicalisation process from 'early involvement' to 'operationally active'. The course considers the different theories of the radicalisation process including the ‘staircase of terrorism’ and the ‘prevent pyramid’ and the biological, psychological and social theories of radicalisation.

This course also considers the individual risk factors of working with children and young people and their vulnerabilities to the influences of radicalisation and discusses how the 'Violent Extremist Risk Assessment' can be adapted and used as a preventative tool when supporting children and young people.

Effective and well planned recruitment and selection is an essential way of ensuring that the right people are employed in the right post role and are able to meet the job specification set out by an employer.

This is an crucial part of making sure we keep children and young people safe and is, rightly so, a definite focus point for Ofsted, where services need to be able to evidence everything they have done during recruitment to check the status of new supporters.

Ofsted will inspect regulation 32 (Fitness of Workers) and regulation 33 (Employment of Staff) of the Children's homes regulations 2015 and services need to be able to demonstrate process are in place for attaining and actioning references, providing induction, probation and completing supervisions.

It is also equally important that people involved in the recruitment and selection process have knowledge of the wide range of employment legislation which determines the methods employers use to recruit staff members and remain able to justify their actions at all times.

We provide a specialist training course which identifies the different types of UK legislation relating to recruitment and selection and how these can specifically apply, including data protection, freedom of information and equality legislation. The course confirms key terms and meanings of the recruitment and selection process, including the production of job descriptions, person specifications, role advertisements and interview requirements.

The course also confirms current Ofsted and Children's Homes Regulations (2015) requirements for recruitment, selection, induction, training and qualifications and identifies the importance of clear probationary periods and issues relating to conduct or performance.

This training course is available as in-house training at your own chosen venue throughout the UK.
